Michigan Island Lighthouse

A wonderful day it was when we cruised 12 miles out to the Island and walked up from the dock (2oo steps) into the sky. What a view! And we are delighted we could have such a lovely day. The lake was beautiful and the trip back to the harbor just as nice. How lucky we are to live "in paradise".

Fox Fire

On my way over to Peg's house I ran into these guys. Lucky I had my camera and they caused a neighborhood gathering to observe the "family" enjoying their day in our woods. Hope the neighbor dog lets them "be".

Yard Angels

Sit proudly above our cliff looking out at the lake and yesterday when the 60 mile an hour winds blew right in, they protected us from falling trees.
These were gifts created for us by Marj and Frank several years ago and they take up their watch again after the snow melts each spring.

Turtle Sunday Amended

This is the one I hoped I could post with the last entry.

It's a spot I visit only 5 minutes from my house along Pikes Creek: one of my favorites.

And, just as I got my camera out to catch the family, they plopped in the water.

Turtles Sunday

On a recent walk along Pikes Creek near my house, I discovered a family of turtles out sunning themselves. As soon as I found them in my viewfinder, they disappeared into the creek. Oh well.

Trillium

Spring is such a time of hope and new life. When I saw the trilliums marching through the woods along Hy 4 near Wrenshall, Mn on the way home last weekend, I was joyful.
